It is a high-pressure direct fuel injection system for diesel engines, it combines the injector nozzle and injection pump in a single component. This one injects fuel as a larger number of smaller droplets, and thus gives a much higher ratio of surface area to volume. Further, Electronic Unit Injector provides improved vaporization from the surface of fuel droplets, so there is a more efficient combining of atmospheric oxygen. Moreover, the use of electronic control allows for special functions such as cylinder balancing and temperature controlled injection timing.
